Grey Stripes

I am so in love with striped walls, and thinking about trying some stripes in my office or living room. I cannot decide if I like subtle grey or black better. If you scroll down here you may even be inspired by the magenta striped dining room!

What do you think about black & white stripes on the wall? It is definitely a bold statement, and I kind of love it. I think the little mudroom in the first photo is pretty amazing.

Lapa, Portugal Apartment

this small apartment in Lapa, Portugal is located in the most beautiful (renovated) 18th-century building. the tile on the walls is all original and so so pretty!

the wide plank floors are fab- and they seem to be unfinished. i love this look, but wonder how hard they are to clean?? could you walk around in socks/barefoot comfortably? what do you think?

doesn’t Lapa look so charming with it’s cobblestone streets? the apartment is a 10-minute walk from the upscale shops and nightclubs in the Chiado district. i LOVE walkable cities! more at nytimes.com

interior painting

we are having our main floor repainted in the next few weeks and i want to keep it neutral in case we put our house back on the market. i am thinking a really light grey or stone color. we will also have all the trim/molding, doors, and ceilings painted white. here are a few inspiration pics:

i think i like the 2nd to last color best, but will be meeting with a color consultant next week! (the paint we will use is Sherwin Williams)
