Inspired by her Look

oliviasstyle.blogspot.com

With Halloween around the corner I’ve been browsing for some good ORANGE & BLACK decor inspiration. I was so inspired by Olivia Palermo’s chic look, & thought it would be fun to put together a few NON-HALLOWEEN orange/black accessories for your living room. What do you think? Would you use orange and black together in your home?

A splash of color in a otherwise neutral room can work wonders. I love earthy elements like these coasters and dipping bowls with a splash of bright color. Purple is my favorite color at the moment. I am copying my 3 year old daughter whose fave color is purple as well. An easy way to add a splash of color is with flowers. I love the purple tulips in this living room.

Mint, Chartreuse, & Navy…with a pop of Red! This woman looks refreshed. & I think she would even if she were not standing next to the pool!

Today I’ve chosen her look as the inspiration for a cheery, COLORFUL living room. My FAVORITE piece is the mint bar cart. Oh, I want this in my home. The painting kind of ties everything together- isn’t it gorgeous? I’m also all about a bright, cozy blanket to cuddle up with. This one is pricey, but sometimes it is worth it to splurge on an amazing throw!

Browns, Tans, Beiges. They seem to be the most common neutral colors used in home decorating. I’ve always found these colors BORING, until recently. There is a cool, new trend of adding pops of bright colors in neutral rooms, like NEON GREEN!

I’ve chosen 4 accessories to go in your neutral living room. The inspiration for the room is this woman’s look. My FAVORITE piece is the brass chest. It would be really beautiful as an end table, & definitely a piece of furniture that you would have forever. Leopard print is more popular than ever, & I’m not sure that it will ever really go out of style! Aren’t trends supposed to change every few years? The pop of color in the room is the Jonathan Adler blanket. It adds a modern/sexy element to the room. The painting ties in all of the brown/neutral shades of the room.

skull pillow, watercolor print, Mason Coffee Table, Robert Abbey Delta Baby Blue Lamp, Kartell Masters Chair

This mood board was inspired by the look of the woman you see below. Isn’t her purple/blue hair beautiful? Not sure who else could really pull off this look, but it certainly suits her! Skulls seem to be on EVERYTHING these days, and I am kind of loving this trend. One of my favorite skull home decor accessories is the Louis In Extremis Pillow. It comes in 9 colors…so easy to find one that will match your decor!

Whenever I think about decorating with cool colors, I think about cool textures as well. Concrete immediately comes to mind! The coffee table I’ve picked out is much more grey (& much less yellow) in person. It is absolutely stunning. (Crate & Barrel needs to run a sale!)
