Swiss Castle

Switzerland is probably one of the most beautiful countries that I have ever visited. The snow capped mountains look surreal and the lakes are so bright blue, almost candy colored!
This historical castle is located near the city of Neuch’tel, just southwest of Zurich. It was built around 1620, and has fairy tale-like details. It can be yours for a pretty penny…just under 21 million! The drawbridge is fantastic!…
Generous reception rooms and a chapel graced with magnificent stained-glass windows give this prestigious home a unique character. The dungeon was fully renovated and offers three large bedrooms. The drawbridge, chapel, gardener’s lodge, orangery and dovecote are bound to capture the heart of connoisseurs of exceptional historical buildings. The carefully landscaped grounds give this special place a refined and peaceful atmosphere.

Portuguese Castle

I had no idea how many castles, chateaus, fortresses, & haciendas were for sale around the world until I became obsessed with looking at them on Sunday evening. I thought it would be fun to post some of my favorites this week- incredibly historic places fit for royalty. For a large chunk of change you can actually move in!
The castle you see here is known as Quinta do Marquês. It is located on five acres and overlooks the green pastures of Torres Novas, Portugal. Looks like an impressive place to host a dinner party, don’t you think? It also comes with a fantastic old chapel in the woods.
Originally dating from the XVII century this masterpiece suffered extensive reconstruction in the final days of the XIX century under the guidance of its previous and illustrious owners the Condes da Foz. In the first two stories, with over 30 rooms and bedrooms, each with its own theme one can delight himself with the superb craftsmanship of traditional Portuguese Tiles and gilded wood. Quinta do Marquês is in a class of its own.
