Martha Stewart Saybridge Sofa

Here is the couch we decided on. After contemplating for weeks we went with the Martha Stewart Saybridge sofa. I am so relieved I didn’t pick the other one, it would have been WAYYY too short. In fact, I almost wish this one was another foot long. The wall behind the sofa is so long, I am thinking about getting dressers instead of 2 end tables.

Now, time to decorate!

The pink chairs will be moved to the other side of the room once my other chairs are finished. I am also going to get some new artwork for the walls. I’m considering a few abstract pieces. The piece you currently see will most likely be moved to the stair landing. I’m also anxious to get a new rug, but that will be the last thing I do once I figure the furniture arranging. (Not sure if I want an 8 X 10 or 9 X 11 rug!)

  1. Love that sofa! The colour is divine too!

  2. I love that sofa too… What is the name of the color?

  3. Hi Carley, the color is STORM and I purchased from Macy’s for $1057 (including delivery!)…it is VERY firm, but has really grown on me!

  4. I just went to order this sofa today and they said it would be about 8 weeks : ( how long did it take to get yours in?

  5. Hi Carissa, I believe it was 3 weeks. It was already in stock (in southern NJ), but I kept putting off delivery until my floors were finished!

8 weeks seems long. where are you located?

  6. is it comfortable? Do you feel the back is short? It is a gorgeous sofa, but I am worried DH would complain about the comfort issue. We would be going from a big sectional to this. I love the way it looks in your room.

  7. Congrats on your new purchase! I have been eying up this couch for a while but I am nervous to take the plunge because of 2 reasons 1.I can’t sit on it or see it in person because no where close to upstate new york sells it. (This is especially important because my boyfriend is 6’7″ and if he wont be able to lay down on it than it will be a waste.) 2. I am worried about the durability of the fabric.

  8. Sonia, it took some getting used to for me. the cushions are VERY FIRM. I will say that it was a turnoff at first but now I find it very comfortable to kick my legs up and rest my head on the sofa arm. no pillow even needed!

it is definitely not too short in the back. hope this helps. I also just posted some more photos of it here: http://www.spearmintdecor.com/2012/04/5-new-things-from-one-kings-lane/

  9. Hi Ash,
I totally understand your concerns. In general I do think it is best to try a sofa out at the store before purchasing. I really just took the plunge because
    1. i wanted a certain look for cheap.
    2. it was going in our living room so we don’t sit in there for very long periods of time.

not sure about durability. I only paid $1057 and I feel like it is okay if my toddlers climb on it with there shoes for that price.

so far so good though. I LOVE laying on it while reading my magazines. it feels very nice and the firmness of it has really grown on me!
