Wallpapered Furniture

I’ve been going through my house trying to get rid of the cluttered mess that it has become. We have a few pieces of faux wood furniture that I’m thinking about leaving on the curb. What else can I do with them, right? I have thought about painting, & also saw this idea in House & Home. What do you think? Would you wallpaper your furniture?

Home of a Hollywood Producer

I have a bit of an obsession with Architectural Digest lately. This home especially caught my eye. My favorite accessory to the home is the painting in the living room. It is Basquiat’s Trumpet …ahhh sooooo amazing!

The entryway is equally breathtaking. It looks like there are brass studs that decorate the space between the molding/trim and the wall. What a cool idea! The beautiful photographs are from Ed Ruscha’s “Nine Swimming Pools” series.

If I had to pick a favorite part of the house, it would be the gorgeous pool house that serves as the guest quarters. WOW, can I move in please?

P.S. more Peter Dunham decor.

White Banister

What do you think of white banisters? I was inspired by one of Greg Natale’s designs, and decided to have our’s painted white. We only have a 1/2 rail with a split staircase so it is not quite as dramatic, but here it is:

Phang Nga Bay

This may be one of the most beautiful homes that I have ever seen! It is located on a rainforest covered mountain of Phuket’s National Park, Thailand….

Fair faced or form faced concrete has been used extensively for wall and ceiling surfaces both internally and externally providing a rustic, relaxed, yet refined ambience. The inherent textures and contrast of the concrete surfaces come alive at night when illuminated. This tropical contemporary villa was designed with sustainability in mind, maximising natural light and ventilation and featuring passive cooling, recycled timber, rain water harvesting, efficient air conditioning (when necessary) and solar hot water. Three of the four bedrooms contain open-air ensuite bathrooms and large terraces with incredible sea and rainforest views. The master suite is located on the pool level and opens on to the large pool deck and garden area. Apart from the gorgeous views, the villa’s location provides for some unbelievable weather watching. Dramatic storms can be seen forming in Phang Nga Bay long before they arrive at the villa and often clouds and mist can be seen moving through the bay, the valley below and through the rainforest. Simply amazing.

If I ever wanted to run away, this is the place I would go! via sothebysrealty.com

Yachts

My husband & I go to the Philadelphia Boat Show just about every year. We would love to be boat owners one day- maybe a nice 32-42 foot cruiser. Anyway, I do LOVE looking at boat design/decor and these celebrity yachts photographed by Douglas Freidman are some of the most fantastic ones that I have seen!

Crosby Street Hotel

I love checking out boutique hotels when looking for decor inspiration. The Crosby Street Hotel is located on a quiet cobblestone street in the heart of SoHo.

The hotel is definitely not afraid of bold colors and lots of them! I love all of the dog artwork and statues in the lobby. There are dramatic chandeliers everywhere and they were not afraid to mix lots of colors and styles. My favorite is the clear chandelier in the 3rd photo- I am not sure if it is crystal clear acrylic or glass. I wonder where it is from?? Guest rooms of the hotel are each unique. Each bed has a beautiful upholstered headboard in a print that sets the tone of the entire room. I wonder if you can request a room?

Beaded Hangers

I love this beaded hanger DIY project by Torie Jayne. I have sooo many wire hangers sitting empty in the closet, & I imaging Harper’s closet full of these pretty hangers! One of these days…..
