white interior with black accents

i am always amazed at the impact that white interiors can have on me. this home is so incredibly beautiful with such character. the subtle black accents (like the armchair in the great room and the chandelier in the bathroom) are making me rethink my new chandelier choice for my dining room!

in almost every room pictured above there is an interesting light choice. it makes me wish that my house didn’t have so much recessed lighting!

the wall of white frames is AMAZING…and reproducible by anyone with some old craiglist frames and a few cans of white spraypaint!

i am definitely bookmarking this home for future inspiration.

my DIY Christmas Tree Skirt

remember the fabric that i purchased?:

i bought 2 yards but it turned out to be way too much. i decided to make a 48 by 48 inch tree skirt since our tree is not huge.

folded over twice (so you have a square shape):

then using a tape measure draw marks at 24 inches:

cut cut cut! and then draw an arc and cut this out:

open it up and you have a tree skirt! cut a straight line anywhere and hem edges if you wish:

TADA:

this cost me $15.99 and i still have a bunch of left over fabric. (my inspiration skirt was at West Elm for over $55!)
