newsprint tree from West Elm

i bought this cute tree from West Elm last week. it is like paper mache with newsprint and has bendable branches! i am going to pick up a simple string of white lights from Target tomorrow to hang on it for the holidays.

i am loving Heather’s painting series entitled “The Girls.” the 3 pieces i posted are my favorites- don’t the characters seem fashionable? you can purchase prints of her paintings at her Etsy Store. i would love to buy a large original Heather Williams painting.

new dining room light

i’m looking for a new light to go in our dining room. here is the table (from craigslist)… i would like to add something a tad modern to hang over it. i am still undecided with the chairs. the table was $50 plus paint and i want to keep the project CHEAP! i would love a modern chair but i cannot find anything in my budget so i am thinking about finding chairs on Craigslist or Goodwill to mix with it.

the Jupiter Chandelier is 20% off at Z Gallerie and i think it is my favorite. i have a 10% off coupon at Pottery Barn and a 20% off coupon at West Elm. HMMMM….i need to sleep on this!

do you remember this Craigslist table i purchased for $50 last winter? well i finally got started on my project. i sanded and painted the first 2 coats today and it is coming along nicely. i am using Behr Ultra in Popped Corn (Matte) i will let it dry all afternoon in the sun today and then hopefully finish it next weekend (depending on the weather!) i am going to ditch the chairs and probably find something a bit more modern to mix and match with the table. i am also on the lookout for a new chandelier to hang above the table. i hope to have this all done by Christmas.

fresh paint!

a peak into our new family room! the paint is a subtle grey called City Loft. it looks white in this pic – i’ll try to get a photo with the shades open once i get the room put back together. (you can also see the the new throw pillows i bought yesterday.) i would love to paint the brassy stripes of the fireplace. any ideas?

now that the family room is painted i had to ditch the old couch pillows. i stopped at West Elm today and got these 2 pillows. i am also looking for a white blanket to drape over the couch. the new color is called CITY LOFT- it is a really light grey and the trim is fresh white. once everything is back in place i will get a few pics up!
